Karon Sue “Suzie” (Huff) Gibson, 57, died at 2:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at her home in Alton after a period of declining health.
She was born on July 24, 1960 in Carlinville and grew, along with her siblings, in Medora and attended Southwestern High School. She worked as a Bartender at various establishments throughout the area for many years and later in the medical office field.
She married Joseph Gibson on September 5, 2015 in Alton and although far too brief, their nearly 3 years of marriage was blessed with many wonderful memories and shared experiences with one another. Suzie was a lover of music, and sang in various bands in her younger years. In her later years, she enjoyed making crafts and sharing her creations with her many friends and family members. She and Joe were also involved with the club, Great River Road Dune Buggies, and enjoyed the many lasting friendships they made along the way. There is nothing more that she enjoyed than the company of others and entertaining her friends and family in the backyard, or around the swimming pool.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Gibon of Alton; a son, Ricky Lee Weller of Fidelity; three step-children, Kayla Gibson of Villa Ridge, MO; Amber and Mitch Kolberg of St. Louis, MO; and James Gibson of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Tim Plummer, and his companion Christi Holmes, of Jerseyville; John and Crystal Plummer of Godfrey and Paul Plummer of Summerville; as well as her K-9 companion, Sissie.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou (Huff) Plummer; as well as her grandparents, Beulah Moore and Otto “George” Huff.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday with Rev. Joel Lohr. Burial will take place at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the family, in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
