June Marie Pape, 88, formerly of East Alton, passed away June 28, 2019.
Born June 7, 1931, in Litchfield, she was the daughter of Charles William and Alta Roberta (Libby) Opel.
June had worked as a personnel supervisor for the Mississippi Lime Company before her retirement. She spent countless hours volunteering for her church, agencies, and charities, always striving to help others.
On June 21, 1952, at St Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River, she married Elmer L. Pape. He died on March 5, 1999.
Surviving is a daughter, Marcia M. Pape (Scott Daniels) of Springfield, VA; three grandchildren, Katherine M., Jennifer L., and Matthew K. Daniels; brother, Paul (Lois) Opel of Worden; and sister, Naomi (Jack) Weller of Litchfield.
Her parents; husband; brother, Glen Opel; and sister, Jean Hagenmeier preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am, Saturday, August 10 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River. Pastor David Schultz will officiate.
Burial will follow in Prairietown Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
