June Acra, age 85, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
She was born November 6,1935, in Walton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Richard & Lulu (Deatherage) Howard.
June married Russell Lee Acra on August 24, 1957, in Walton, Kentucky, he preceded her in death on July 6, 2008.
She is survived by four sons, Stephen Acra & wife Tina of Aledo, Texas, Timothy Acra & wife Sharon of Columbia, Missouri, James Acra & wife Leigh Ann of Troy, Illinois, Kevin Acra and wife Jill of Dupo, Illinois: one daughter Paula Tosh & husband Andy of Glen Carbon.
12 grandchildren, Julia (Dan) Brand, Anna (Jeff) Pamplin, Emily (Greg) Frey, Christi (Casey) Blackburn, Nicole Acra, Justin Howell, Tyler (Rachael) Brown, Jess(Emily) Howell, Lucas Howell, Kailey Acra, Cody Heusohn & Ryker Ramirez and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Along with Russ her husband of 50 years, June was also preceded in death by two grandchildren Mathew Acra and Katie Acra Higbee: four brothers and four sisters.
She was a member & Deacon of the First Christian Church in Edwardsville. June was also a volunteer at Anderson Hospital for many years.
She will be cremated according to her wishes and a celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Edwardsville Moose Lodge 1561.
June will be buried alongside her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Weber & Rodney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
