Judy Marie Steed, 72, passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 at Bria of Wood River.
Born Nov. 17, 1953 in Sikeston, MO, she was a daughter of Benedict J. and Thelma (Bomia) Balicki.
Judy worked in the centerfire division of Olin Corp. She loved bird watching, visiting casinos, and she also enjoyed the outdoors and camping. Horses were a favorite, and she watched rodeos often on TV when she wasn’t watching true crime shows. A very creative person, Judy also had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include nieces Ashley and Brittani Balicki of Alton; a great nephew and great niece that Judy thought of as her grandchildren, Zaydan and Salem Balicki; two brothers, Stephen (Tina) Balicki of Roxana and Greg Balicki of Alton; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward Steed; two sisters, Barbara Hodge and Benita Balicki; and two brothers, Larry Edwards and Mark Balicki.
A memorial visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 29 at Paynic Home for Funerals.
