Judy Ann Maupin, 69, of Alton, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at her home.
She was born March 27, 1954, in Alton, Illinois, daughter of the late James and Verna (Cochran) Klug.
On September 21, 1973, Judy married Arthur Dennis Maupin at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wood River. He survives.
Prior to retirement, Judy worked as a clerk for the Hostess Company. She enjoyed camping and boating. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time in her kitchen cooking and canning and during the time her mother and sister owned Elegant Touch Interiors and Gifts in Jerseyville, Illinois, you could find her helping in whatever way she could. Her family meant the world to her, including her dog, Charlie. After raising her daughters with Dennis, she was promoted to her favorite role, MawMaw! Her days were spent, from then on, with “those Grandbabies” as she lovingly referred to them. She was #1 cheerleader at every golf match, soccer and basketball game and the biggest supporter at every dance recital and band concert. Judy provided the greatest example of how to love your family and hers will miss her dearly.
In addition to her husband, Dennis, she will be missed by her children and their spouses, Carrie (Tim) Sexton of Worden, Illinois, Amanda (Chris) Allen of Shipman, Illinois; grandchildren, Caden Sexton, Clayton Allen, Makenna Sexton, and Josie Allen; sisters and their spouses, Diane (Jim) Bailey, Donna (Mike) Wendle; brothers and spouses, Jim (Janice) Klug, Randy (Marsha) Klug; brothers and sisters in law, Val Maupin, Susan (Rudy) Elam, Richard (Diane) Maupin, Kathy (Brian) Grabner, Maria (Sue Rice) Maupin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in law, Arthur and Mary Jean Maupin; and brother in law, Joe Maupin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton, Illinois.
Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto, Illinois.
