Judith Kay Spurgeon, 80, of Livingston, IL, passed away at 5 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL.
She was born September 24, 1945 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Leo & Delores (Gill) Kline. She married Sherrill Spurgeon on December 28, 1971 & he passed away on April 23, 2009.
Judy was employed at Kline’s Café in New Douglas, IL, & as a custodian at New Douglas Elementary School in New Douglas, IL. She was also a Life Member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #710.
She is survived by her three children - James (Kimberly) Spurgeon of Bunker Hill, IL, Rachelle (John) Williams of New Berlin, IL, & Christy (George) Grindstaff of New Douglas, IL; eight grandchildren - Jamie Perry, Joshua Burney, Candise Spurgeon, Lauren (Kyle) Miller, Landon Williams, Michael Russell, Ashley (Carson) Talleur, & Brady Russell; five great grandchildren - Holden, Zandra, Linkon, Malachi, & Garrett; two siblings - Mary (Gary) Bolen of Crawford, GA, & Fred (Dorothy) Kline of Livingston, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive. Besides her husband & parents, she was preceded in death by one brother - William Kline.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 AM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton, IL, with burial to follow at New Douglas City Cemetery in New Douglas, IL.
