Judith Lee Overby, age 83 of Pocahontas, IL, died Thursday, January 15, 2026, at HSHS Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.
She was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1942, in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (nee Minten) Roberson.
On Saturday, May 23, 1964, she married Joseph T. Overby in East St. Louis, Illinois, who passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Judy was born in East St. Louis, Illinois and graduated from high school there. After her marriage to Joe, they moved to Fairview Heights in the late 1960s, then to Pocahontas in the early 2000s. She graduated from a hair stylist school and also worked at A.G. Edwards for over 10 years. Judy enjoyed collecting all different kinds of things. She enjoyed family vacations to Florida as well.
Survivors include:
Sisters - Delores F. Tyson, Pocahontas, IL and Brenda S. (John) Andruska, Belleville, IL; several grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband - Joseph T. Overby, Sr. (died 12/9/2025); parents - Margaret Frances Roberson, nee Minten and Thomas Steven Roberson and 2 sons - Joseph Thomas Overby, Jr. (died 5/19/1983) and Jeffrey Lee Overby, died 11/19/2010.
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Service will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Interment will be at Highland City Cemetery in Highland, IL.
