Joyce M. Shelby, 83, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at her home in Alton.
Born May 20, 1941 in Bunker Hill, IL she was the daughter of Alfred and Hallie (Bostick) Hand.She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.
On August 2, 1958 she married Paul L. Shelby in Alton.He preceded her in death on April 7, 2017.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura M. Morgan of Cottage Hills and Denise R. Small (Jerald) of Alton, two grandchildren, Dustin McCann (Danielle) of Roxana and Holly Snyder (Tony) of Mason City, IL, three great grandchildren, Sophia Reese McCann, Arwen Marie Snyder and Delilah Ann Snyder, one brother, Richard Hand of Florida and three sisters, Gloria Daves of Alton, Dolores Null of East Alton, and Virginia Hausman of Godfrey.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Larry Hand.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto.
