Joyce Rogers Obermiller, 90, passed away at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at San Gabriel Memory Care in Godfrey.
Joyce was born to Thomas and Evelyn Rogers at Jewish Hospital on June 14, 1935.
She married Frederick D. Obermiller, Jr. on Sept. 12, 1953 at the 1st Baptist Church of Wood River. They celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Carter; a sister, Reva Lanzerotti; four grandchildren, Alicia (Matty) Gregg, Michael (Cindy) Santy, Geoffrey Carter, and Laura (Colby) Powell; six great grandchildren, Noah Herndon, Ethan Herndon, Emma Gregg, Ben Santy, Luke Santy, and Brooke Santy; and nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred; a daughter, Cathy Santy; her parents, Thomas and Evelyn Rogers; a sister, June Simmons; a brother, Tom Rogers; and a great grandson, Zachary, who died at birth.
Joyce enjoyed vacationing with Fred in Hawaii, attending church, shopping, lunches at tea rooms, her family and friends, and a much-loved grand-dog, Winnie.
A private burial was held at Woodland Hill Cemetery.
