Joyce E. Cook, 86, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Gillespie Health and Rehabilitation in Gillespie, IL.
She was born on January 20, 1939 in Poplar Bluff, MO the daughter of Hobert and Leona (Guthrie) Lambert.
She married Robert Tucker in 1953, and were married for some time. Joyce then married Carl Cook in 1963 and he preceded her in death.
Joyce worked as a housekeeper for Alton Memorial Hospital and in jewelry sales. She enjoyed playing bingo and taking casino bus trips. Joyce was a former member of the Alton VFW #1308. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Joyce is survived by four children and their spouses, Robert and Teresa Tucker of Benld, IL; Randy Tucker of E. Alton; Kim and Brian Harshbarger of Edwardsville; and Carla Hettick of Hillboro; a brother, Leon ""Virgil" Hosfelt of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren, Christopher Tucker, Cristopher Hollingsworth, Melanie Hollingsworth, Cassandra and Ryan Malloy, and Nicole and David Kelsch; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and one on the way; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her first husband, Robert Tucker; and her second husband, Carl; Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Cook; and a son-in-law, Art Ford.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 pm until a time of service at 6:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Rombauer Cemetery in Rombauer, MO.
