Joyce Turner

Joyce Audrey (Rimbey) Turner, 84, of Rockbridge, Illinois, died at 9:56 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Athensville, Illinois on September 8, 1932, and was the last surviving of six children born to Leroy Edgar and Anne Beatrice (Mayberry) Rimbey.Joyce was twice widowed, her first husband, Albert Tinsley passed away on June 25, 1990.  She then married Lyndell Turner on October 31, 1991, and they shared nearly ten years together prior to his death on September 30, 2001.She is survived by Jeff Lawrence of Bethalto, whom she always thought of as a son; as well as Josh Lawrence and his son, Trent of Bethalto.In addition, she is also survived by a sister in law, Vivian Rimbey of Rockbridge, along with a host of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husbands, Joyce was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Motley, Cleo White and Pauline "Polly" Cummins; and two brothers, Leland "Spud" Rimbey and Dale "Cap" Rimbey.Visitation will be fro 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2017.Burial will take place at the Witt Cemetery in Rockbridge.Memorials may be given to the Rockbridge United Methodist Church in her honor.
