Joyce Lane

JERSEYVILLE-  Joyce Ann (Scoggins) Lane, 65, died at 5:55 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family.She was born in Hardin on May 21, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Middleton Perry & Mary Catherine (Schuster) Scoggins.Joyce was raised in Jerseyville, and throughout her life had many accomplishments, including baking, sewing, gardening, but her most her most important role was that of Mom and Grandma.She married Donald Lane in April 2005 in Merritt Island, Florida, and they have mad Jerseyville their home since.Surviving are her husband, Donald Lane of Jerseyville; three children, Lisa (Maltimore) Morrison, Dianne (Davis) Crump, and Martin D. Marshall all of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Katey, Brandon, C.J., Hiley, Jessica and Marley; a sister, Linda Hanning of Jerseyville; and a brother, Michael P. Scoggins of Missouri.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Julia, Evelyn, and Donna.Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Thursday until time of funeral services at 7 p.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.  The Rev. Ted Engelsdorfer will officiate.Private burial will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.The family would appreciate no flowers or plants, but instead would prefer anyone who wishes to honor Joyce do so in the form of a memorial to the Montel Williams Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of the funeral home.
