Joyce Robinette

Joyce Ann Robinette, 82, graduated to her heavenly home at 3:37 pm Monday, July 24, 2017 in Alton with her family by her side, under the care of BJC Hospice.  She fought the good fight of faith and has finished her race.She was born on December 11, 1934 in East Alton, IL, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Farmer) Shrum.She married Ralph “Robbie” Robinette on June 16, 1956 at the Friendship Baptist Church in East Alton.  He preceded her in death on September 17, 2010.Joyce Ann worked for Illinois State Bank in control bookkeeping for five years.  She also gave piano lessons for many years. She was of the General Baptist faith and was involved in many churches in the area, where she played piano, taught Sunday school and helped out where ever she was needed. She enjoyed working with dried flowers and decorating with them. Joyce and her husband Robbie sang and played over the years at nursing homes, weddings, retirements, senior citizens, funerals and special events. She knew many people and never met a stranger; she always had a word of encouragement, a big smile, a love for others and she served the Lord with her whole heart. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all of them.She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kent & Rene’ Robinette of Bethalto; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristi & Rick Ragsdale of St. Charles, MO; two grandchildren, Zach and Erin Robinette; and nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Robbie, and one brother, Charles Shrum.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, with Pastor Bob Beloit officiating.Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Bible Fellowship Church in Bunker Hill or BJC Hospice.Online condolences may be sent to eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
