Joy Robinson

Joy Lynn Robinson, nee Jones, 74, of Freeburg, IL, born August 31, 1952, in East St. Louis, IL, died Monday, September 7, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Robinson retired from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department where she had worked as a 911 dispatcher. She was a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department Auxiliary Deputy, an ESDA member, and a volunteer for the Freeburg Food & Clothing Bank.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin “Duane” and Carol, nee Croslin, Jones.

Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Eldon “Gene” Martin, whom she married on January 28, 2011; two daughters, Dawn (Terry) Owens and Carolynn (Daniel Jr.) Van de Riet; three sons, Richard O. Robinson III, Jason Martin, and James (Kristin) Martin; six grandchildren, Rachel (Lyndon) Engelke, Daniel Van de Riet, III, Nathanael Reiman, Ethan Martin, Liam Martin, and Mason Treat; two great-grandchildren, Emersyn and Joel Engelke; a sister, Janet (Richard) Bush; a brother, Alvin Duane Jr. “Jay” (Lisa) Jones; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at The Fellowship Metroeast, 1897 Mascoutah Avenue, Belleville, IL 62220.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at The Fellowship Metroeast, 1897 Mascoutah Avenue, Belleville, IL 62220, with Rev. Belafae Johnson, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Freeburg, IL.
