Joy Paul

Joy Ann (Scheurer) Paul, born July 11th, 1945, passed away Monday, November 13, surrounded by her family after a serious fall at home. She is survived by her husband Jerry Paul, who she married in September 1962, her children Chris (Stacey) Paul, Cindy (Doug) Williams, and Curt (Mary Beth) Paul, her grandchildren Jenny (Anthony) Tuzzo, Justin (Sarah) Paul, Abby (Ryan) Allsman, Kyle (Rachel) Williams, Tyler (Katie) Williams, Luke (Hannah) Williams, Rachel Dell Williams, and Seth Paul, and her great grandchildren Jordan Tuzzo, Danica Paul, Charlie Allsman, Cooper Williams, and Tucker Williams.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hazel Scheurer, her brother and sister-in-law, Wandell and Pauline Scheurer, her mother-in-law, Pearl Paul, and brother-in-law, Robert Paul.

She was a civic-minded advocate for her community of Fosterburg, taking it upon herself to detail the history of Fosterburg, play a pivotal role in the creation of the Fosterburg Museum, and dedicate hours of her time to the Fosterburg Cemetery.

Joy was a fiery, hard-headed, hilarious, and truly caring member of her family. She always made sure that there were reasons for everyone to stay connected, and her legacy is her family. She loved fiercely and was the center of her family’s orbit. She was the glue that held us all together. She will be remembered always with love, laughter, and a healthy amount of bossiness. She loved Jesus and we know that she has entered into his loving arms.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16 from 4-7 pm at Paynic Funeral Home in Rosewood Heights followed by a private memorial service on Friday.
