Joshua "Josh" Adam Harrop, age 22, went to be with the Lord at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010.

He was born on March 26, 1988 in Alton, IL, the son of Kent D. Harrop and his wife Donna of Meadowbrook and Kelly A. (Odle) Martin and her husband Rev. Sam of Alton.

He married Michelle (Greco) on March 15, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. She survives.

Josh was a member of the Boy’s and Girls Club in Bethalto since he was very young. He was a graduate of CM High School in Bethalto where he enjoyed Wresting, Football and Baseball. He was attending Lewis and Clark Community College where he was studying criminal law. He had just started working at Tab Auto Body in Granite City. Prior to that he was employed at 62 sports in Roxana and the Meadowbrook Water District. He attended Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming, going out on their boat, sports, remodeling houses and playing on his softball team, which Kinzels Florist sponsored and loved to spend time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife; parents; one brother and sister-in-law, Randall & Melissa Harrop of East Alton; two sisters and their companions, Veronica Harrop and Ryan Erwin of Cottage Hills and Abigail Harrop and Ryan Smith of Alton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom & Dana Greco of Holiday Shores; a nephew, Logan two nieces, Khelienah and Myleigh; one step brother, Paul Martin of Portage, WI; two step sisters, Heather Wood of Champaign, IL and Faith Martin of Chicago; paternal grandparents John & Margaret Harrop of Meadowbrook; maternal grandmother, Lois Zimmerman of Wood River; paternal step grandmother, Donna Coonrod of Greenfield; maternal step grandparents, Rev. Sam Sr. & Maxine Martin of Ore city, TX; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kristel & Sean Hagan of St. Louis, MO; two brothers-in-law, Tony and Daniel Greco of Holiday Shores; and several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Odle and step paternal grandfather, Curtis Coonrod.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, with Pastor Mark Hofferber officiating.

Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
