Josephine Narup

Josephine R. Narup, age 96 of Alton passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 , 1:27p.m. at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.Born April 19, 1920 in Wood River and was the daughter of the late John A. and Louise L. (nee: Schenk) Urich.She retired in 1982 from the Wood River Public Library following 20 years of faithful service, and was a longtime member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton where she was active in the Altar Society and enjoyed assisting with the parish newspaper.She married Courtney E. Motz on October 29, 1942 and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1970. She later married Leonard Narup on November 28, 1986 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1993.Survivors include a step-son, Richard Allen Narup , several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by a step-son, Donald Narup.Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2017, 4:00 – 7:00 pm at STATEN-FINE Funeral Home, in Alton.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Father Jason Stone as celebrant.Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in AltonAn online tribute and guest book may be found at www.staten-fine.com.
