Josephine Elizabeth McGuire was born March 4th, 2024, at 2:49 pm weighing 14 oz and 10.5 inches long. We may be biased as her parents, but we think she was the most beautiful, strong, feisty little girl.
We enjoyed 68 perfect hours together before her passing on March 7, 2024, at 11 am. During that time, she got to meet her family and she was told of all of the people who love her and were praying for her. We celebrated her birthday with cupcakes, held her, and read her favorite books. We sang her lullabies and worship music that everyone sent. When the time came, we celebrated joyously as she passed from our loving arms into Jesus’ and got to experience His perfect love. She had lived a perfect life, only knowing unconditional love. Although her time on Earth was short, Josie touched so many lives and she was so loved. She will always be missed and cherished.
Please join us on Saturday, March 16, 2024, for visitation from 9:30 am until 11:00 am with a Celebration of Life to start at 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaff funeral home in Bethalto Illinois with her great uncle, Pastor Mike Kohlbaker officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
We request that everyone wear purple as that is the color of prematurity awareness and while we are sad to lose Josie, we are choosing to celebrate her life and arrival to heaven. So please try to come in a celebratory mood as this is a joyous occasion.
If you would like to bring food to the family, please feel free to do so, as we will be having a potluck for family and friends to enjoy after Josie’s burial at The River Church in Alton IL. All are welcome to attend. We also have a food train set up that is being managed by Josie’s uncle Gavin McGuire. He can be reached at 618-535-2849. A memorial may be given to the Ryan and Tory McGuire family to help cover medical expenses.
