Josephine Anna Clyde, 99, died at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at her residence. She was born April 5, 1917 in East Alton the daughter of the late Dominic and Anna (Azzarello) Campagna. She was a graduate of Marquette High School Class of 1936 and a lifetime member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. She worked in the Walmart #13 store in Clinton, MO in the fabric department and transferred to Jerseyville in 1979 retiring in 1993 after 17 years of service. On June 10, 1957 in Jefferson City, MO she married Joe S. Clyde and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1967. Surviving are three daughters, Kristin Calvert of Jerseyville, Lori Harshbarger of Jerseyville, and Sarah Werkowitch (Peter) of Paola, KS, one son, Mark Clyde (Zoe Ann) of Jerseyville, 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Ann Wittman of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Johnston, one son-in-law, John Harshbarger, three brothers, Joe Campagna, Vincent Campagna and Anthony Campagna and one sister, Antoinette Darr. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Steve Pohlman officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
