Joseph Samuelson

Joseph (Joe) Samuelson, 73, of Swansea, IL, born April 7, 1953, in Indianapolis, IN, died Thursday, September 10, 2026, at his residence.

Joe graduated from John Carroll University and earned his law degree from Lewis University. He served as an attorney for 50 years. The love and achievements of Joe will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dorothy, nee Kramer, Samuelson; a brother, Rick Samuelson; his father-in-law, Stanley Syzdek; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Marty Wilson; and his best friend, Woo.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Denise, nee Syzdek, Samuelson; a son, Rob (Jordan) Samuelson; a daughter, Kayla (Matthew) Skaggs; a sister, Sarah (Michael) Garcia; his mother-in-law, JoAnn Syzdek; four sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Coates Samuelson, Debbie (Jack) Lay, Karen O’Dell, and Sherri (Brad) Moore; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, September 17, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
