Joseph Martin Kirbach, 64, died at 2:20 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026, at his home in Jerseyville.
He was born on July 23, 1961, in Carrollton and was the son of the late Clarence and Eleanor (Becker) Kirbach.
Joe married the former Suzanne Brown on March 29, 1999, at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton, and together they shared 27 years of marriage filled with love, laughter and unwavering devotion to one another.
He was employed as a truck driver with 7-Up, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dependable nature. Outside of work, Joe was happiest with a project to tackle. A gifted handyman and mechanic, there seemed to be very little he couldn't fix. Whether it was repairing an engine, helping a family member with a home project or simply spending time tinkering in his garage, he took great pride in working with his hands. He enjoyed solving problems, figuring out how things worked and was always willing to lend his knowledge and talents to anyone in need.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Suzanne Kirbach of Jerseyville; two sisters, Kathleen Bain and Karen Curtright, both of Carrollton; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Missy Kirbach of Fieldon; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Carolyn Brown and Joan Smith; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Bain and Morris Curtright.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2026, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fieldon.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fieldon.
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Cemetery or for Masses.
