Joseph Rose

Joseph Henry Rose, age 80, of Alton, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Rosewood Care Center.He was born July 12, 1936, in Brussels, IL, the son of Henry John and Bertha Ann (Telkamp) Rose. He married Patricia Ann Crane on March 16, 1957 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and she survives.Joseph graduated from Marquette High School in 1954. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1956 until 1960. He had been an operations manager for AT&T for thirty years.In addition to his wife, Patricia; he is survived by three children and their spouses, Victoria and Michael Vandenlangenberg of Green Bay, WI, Christopher and Cathy Rose of Alton, and Kellie and Frank Devitt of Greer, South Carolina; five grandchildren and their spouses, Dr. Patrick and Hannah Rose of Ballwin, MO, Scott and Whitney Rose of St. Louis, MO, Dr. Kyle and Emily Vandenlangenberg of California, Jacob Vandenlangenberg of Wisconsin, and Taylor and Seth Hammerly of South Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Noah, Liam, Maeve, and Shane Rose, and Parker Rose Hammerly; a sister-in-law, Merry Lynn Rose; a former sister-in-law, Cathy Rose; and several nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leonard Herman Rose, and Aloysious Raymond Rose.A private family service will be held at a later date.Memorials May be made to Sts.
