Joseph Hamilton

Joseph A. Hamilton, age, 50 of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 12, 1967 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of Joanne (Ciarlando) Palmer and the late Joseph Hamilton. Joe worked as a structural engineer in the Metro area and went on to own and operate Hamilton Engineering. Besides his mother he is survived by a son Mitchell J. Hamilton of Edwardsville; a daughter Jessica M. Hamilton of Edwardsville; three sisters, Patricia Badman & husband John of Alton, Helen Beard & husband Howard of Edwardsville, Jacqueline Hamilton of Venice, California; step father Mark Palmer of Edwardsville; step mother Yvonne Hopman of Edwardsville; & many nieces & nephews. Joe was a graduate of the SIUE School of Engineering and was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers. He loved spending time with family, coaching Jessica & Mitchell in softball & baseball, golfing, hiking, wood working and skiing. Joe was known for his grilling and pool parties at his home. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the funeral home with Rev. Willard Meyer officiating. He will be cremated according to his wishes following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Jessica Hamilton for expenses.
