Jon K. Bucher, 61, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his home. Born November 8, 1954 in Alton, he was the son of Raymond E. and Shirley A. (Greathouse) Bucher of Godfrey. Jon attended Alton High School and Western Illinois University and served in the U.S. Army. He served on the Board of Directors for S.O.A.R. in Southern Missouri. He was formerly a sales representative for Baxter Medical Supply and a project manager for the Bratton Corporation in Kansas City where he worked as a project manager for the Union Glazing division and retired. Along with his parents he is survived by two brothers, Mike Bucher (Jan) of Godfrey and Ed Bucher of Chicago; four sisters, Linda Wheaton (Brad) of Godfrey, Carol Kerwin (Pat) of Dallas, TX; Mari Fahrendorf (Paul) of O’Fallon, MO, and Anne Palles (Ted) of Dallas, TX; five nieces and 11 nephews as well as his closest friend, his dog Mandy. A rosary service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton followed by graveside services at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Father William Hembrow will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Church of St. Sylvester in Eminence, Missouri where he had been an active member since his retirement.
