John Wright

John Lewis Wright, age 86, stepped out of time into eternity on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Greenville First Christian Church. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral starting at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers and plants, please make memorials to the Bond County Gideons. Interment will follow services at Union Grove Cemetery.

John was born on November 3, 1939, son of John and Thelma Wright in Brazil, Indiana. He was the middle of 9 children. John married Gianetta Fay Frost on July 12, 1957. He taught for 33 years at Greenville College in both Education and English departments.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters: Denise Helene Oliver, Gianetta Kay Hamerly, Lynn Anne Dwork, and Esther Elaine Moore, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 surviving siblings.
