John Wesley Myers, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021surrounded by family and friends at the age of 51 years.
Born May 16, 1969, John was a son of Joe and Brenda Myers of East Alton. John attended East Alton-Wood River High School.
He married GariAnn Hanlon on Feb. 17, 2015. He worked as a steel worker, retiring from U.S. Steel after 20 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved his dogs, Gunner and Molly.
John is survived by his wife GariAnn Myers; his mother, Brenda Myers of East Alton; sister Lori (Dallas) Bold of Wood River; brother David (Ruth) Myers of Edwardsville; daughter Natalie Hanlon and daughter Cate Skiles of Hartford, IL; son Sean Hall of Brighton, IL, son Eric Hall of Murray, KY, and son Edward Hall of Winfield, MO. He is also survived by in-laws Michael and Lavonne Hanlon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Myers; maternal grandparents Jess Lee and Ilean Welch; and paternal grandparents Everett and Margerite Myers.
The family will hold a private time of remembrance, but all are welcome to gather at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 when he will be laid to rest.
