John Ray Andrews (83) passed away at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, CO on March 1, 2021.

John was born 02/07/1938 in Bethalto, IL the son of Aubrey V. & Anna J. (Young) Andrews.

After graduating from Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, John joined the US Army and served in the Army Engineers at Kaiser Slautern in Germany.

John loved to travel the United States, especially out West where he camped, rode his motorcycle and explored.  He had many hobbies, including building model airplanes, collecting die cast cars, cameras and watches.  He spent 8 years in San Francisco working for the post office.  He moved back to Illinois for a while then decided to move to Carson City, NV where he worked for the highway department.  At the time of his death, John lived in Montrose, CO.

He is survived by two sisters, Patsy S. (Andrews) & Larry Lippi of Walnut Creek, CA and Susan D. (Andrews) Bitter & Bernard Bitter of Moscow Mills, MO.  Nieces and nephews, Sherlyn Becker, Karen Seets, Lisa Cloninger, Randall Ballard, Christopher Lippi, Douglas Lippi, Wendy Pope, Matthew Bitter and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Wilma J. (Andrews) Bickmore and A. Maxine (Andrews) Cloninger; nieces, Cathy Ballard and Theresa Lippi; nephews, Michael Cloninger, Allen Ballard and Ricky Ballard.

Johns cremains will be interred in Bethalto Methodist Cemetary next to his beloved parents. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
