John Plovich

John D "Jack" Plovich, 87, of Gillespie, IL, died at his residence on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born May 9, 1938, in Litchfield, IL to John Plovich & Dorothy Savant Plovich.

He married Lorraine Benedetti on November 19, 1960. She preceded him in death on October 12, 1977. He then married Carolyn Fahrenkrog on April 14, 1978.

He was retired after having worked as an executive officer of several local community banks and the Illinois Secretary of State. He showed integrity by customers and colleagues alike. Jack was a lifelong Cubs fan. He enjoyed reminiscing about Benld High School football and basketball, fishing, traveling and pool.

He is survived by his spouse, Carolyn Plovich of Gillespie, IL, daughters, Tami (Dr. Jeff) Noll of Edwardsville, IL, Jacki (Tom) Cerkoski of St. George, UT, step sons, Eric (Marta) Bowles of Hinsdale, IL, Jeff (Lynne) Bowles of San Diego, CA, grandchildren, Holly Yotter, Kellen Kolesar, Ian (Megan) Bowles, Dr. Eva (fiancé, Dr Nick Smith) Bowles, Mattison Cerkoski, Emily Cerkoski (significant other, Nathan Gray), Garis Bowles, Emerson Bowles, great-grandchildren, Zyan Kolesar, Jett Kolesar, Scarlett Yotter, Anderson Bowles, sister in law, JoAnn Plovich and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, Lorraine (Benedetti) Plovich , brother, Terry Dean Plovich and mothers and fathers in law.

Private family services will be held. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph's Church.
