John Joseph “Dado” Pfeifer, 67, died at 1:51 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026 at his home in Jerseyville.
He was born on January 26, 1959, in Alton and was the son of the late Francis and Pauline (Michael) Pfiefer.
John married the former Tammy Perdun on September 1, 1979 at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
He was a man that believed in hard work, taking pride in everything he did. Whether he was in the garage working on race cars, making sure the yard was maintained, or cutting and stacking wood. John had a passion for speed and engines, enjoying his race cars, his go-karts, and his mustangs.
Above all else, he was devoted to his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than the time spent with those he loved, especially his granddaughter, Payton.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy of Jerseyville; a daughter, Becky “Kiddo” Randolph of Jerseyville; a brother, Paul (Joan) Pfeifer of Godfrey; a granddaughter, Payton “Henry” Randolph of Jerseyville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Behringer, and a grandson, Coates Randolph.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2026 at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
Burial will follow at the Grimes-Neeley Cemetery in Jerseyville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
