John Schulte

John P. Schulte, was born January 15, 1958, in Jerseyville, Illinois to Mildred (Droege) Schulte and the late Henry Schulte. He passed away at Jerseyville Hospital on December 27, 2019 with his loving family by his side.

John worked for Calhoun Quarry Company as a loader for 30 plus years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels, the Son’s of the American Legion, Western Catholic Union, and the NRA. He loved playing pinochle, darts, watching Jeopardy, hunting, and fishing.

John is survived by his mother, Mildred Schulte; ten sisters and brothers: Margaret Chism, Anne (Larry) Eberlin, Barb (Bill) Hartman, Joe (Kathy) Schulte, Theresa Schulte, Nancy(David) Kaiser, Kathie (Bob) Sproull, Norma Davis, Ted (Mary) Schulte, and Donna (Jon) Hughes; a special nephew and niece, Alex and Justine Schulte and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bertha Schulte.

Visitation will be Friday January 3, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.

Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday January 4, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Brussels.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mass, or Family Choice.
