John William Grant III, 48, of Flora, IL, died at 9:40 a.m. Thurs. Aug. 28, 2025 at Clay County Hospital ER in Flora, IL.
He was born Oct. 16, 1976 in Highland, IL to Jean (Mosby) Zbinden of Lebanon, IL and the late John William Grant II.
John worked in motel maintenance and had attended Heritage Church. He loved to play cards and slots as well as playing in Texas Hold’em Tournaments with his mom.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his soulmate, Angi Schwappach of Flora, IL, a son, Peyton Grant of Mascoutah, IL, 4 step-children, Austin Schwappach of Highland, IL, Brayden White of Lubbox, TX, Lillyan White and Paizleigh White of Flora, IL, 3 brothers, Kenny Landolt of Pierron, IL, Gerald Landolt of Highland, IL, and Michael (Sarah) Mosby of Lebanon, IL, former spouses, Donna Stanford of San Leon, TX, Julie Ferguson of Bartelso, IL, and Jackie Leroy of St. Louis, MO, and many other extended family and friends.
The family will hold a celebration of John’s life Sat. Oct. 11, 2025 at 9070 Summerfield South Road, Mascoutah, IL 62258. The celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will continue sometime into the evening.
