John G. Dockins, 84, passed away at 10:42 am on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. He was born on November 20, 1940, in Datto, Arkansas, the son of the late Len and Matilda (Forbes) Dockins. He married Sandy Brandt and she preceded him in death. Survivors include a son: John Knarr of St. Louis, two stepdaughters: Kathy Page and her husband: Dale of St. Charles, Missouri, Tamara Keethler – Smith of Alton, a step-son: Antonio Smith and his wife: Niecy of Kansas City, Kansas, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister: Laura Laughlin of St. Louis, two brothers: Denzel Dockins and his wife: Lois of Minnesota, Larry Dockins of Jennings, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
John enjoyed playing pool and splitting wood.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
The family will hold a memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at the Elks Lodge, 2726 Oakville Elks Lane, St. Louis, Missouri, 63129.
