John Edward "Jack" Maher, 90, fortified by the sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church, passed away peacefully at 6:30 a.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 with his family by his side. Surviving are six children and their spouses: John and Cathy Maher of JerseyvilleEdward and Sandra Maher of JerseyvilleTherese and Andy Macias of JerseyvilleRita and Dean Heneghan of JerseyvilleAngela and Edward Koenig of DowMaureen and Patrick Tepen of Meppen23 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildrenFive siblings and their spouses: Margaret Droste of GodfreyKatherine and Bob Luedde of St. Louis, MOBill Maher of AltonPatrick Maher of AltonCarolyn and Alan Crispi of AltonVisitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville with a rosary at 3 p.m.Mass of Christian Burial will take place  at 10 a.m., Monday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville. Burial: St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.Memorials may be given to St. Francis Xavier Church, Jersey County Health Department or to Masses.
