John Wayne Booth, also known as Johnboy, 44, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 in Alton.
He was born on October 8, 1981 in Wood River, IL the son of Gary Lee and Colleen (Carpenter) Booth.
John worked as a driver for Robert "Bob" Sanders for several years. He had also worked as a carpet installer and bartender. John enjoyed playing in pool leagues, riding dirt bikes, and singing karaoke. He also enjoyed drawing, sketching, and fishing. JohnBoy was a jack of all trades. John's greatest joys were spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by three children, Heather Lynn Booth of Cottage Hills, Morgan Booth of Alton, IL, and Zachary Booth of Cottage Hills; five siblings, David Lee Booth of Jacksonville, IL, Chad Booth and Katie of Jacksonville, IL, Catherine Booth and Eldon of Virginia, IL, his identical twin, Timothy Booth and Andria of E. Alton, IL, and Jillian Walker of Sedalia, MO; four grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Terry Carpenter; In-Laws, Patrick Wethington, Michael Dodd; a niece, Elizabeth Stein-Dawdy; and a nephew, Nicoleus Booth
Visitation will held Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home with Pastor Terry McKenzie officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to his children
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
