John Baggio, 71, a lifelong resident of Benld and Gillespie, Illinois, died suddenly on January 15, 2026.
He was born on August 5, 1954, in Litchfield, Illinois to Joseph and Anna (Kasarda) Baggio. He married Dana L. Alender on February 23, 1974 in Gillespie, IL. She preceded him in death on January 14, 2021.
For 40 years, John and his wife owned and operated Jodanni’s Amore, an Italian restaurant and catering business in Benld, Illinois. Through his work, he supported countless families by providing food and hospitality for celebrations, milestones, and community gatherings, reflecting both his love for food and his commitment to serving others.
John was invested in his family and community and was generous with his time. His sudden passing will be felt throughout the Benld and Gillespie communities.
He is survived by his daughters, Natalie (spouse, Dennis Disch) Baggio, Nicole (spouse, Chad) Faller, grandson, Nolan Faller and mother in law, Mary Alender.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, brother, Ron Baggio and Dale Baggio.
Private services will be held. Memorials may be made to Gillespie Benld Ambulance Service or Benld Library.
