John Pelhank

John Almon Pelhank, 93, passed away, on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Willow Rose Nursing and Rehab in Jerseyville.He was born November 6, 1923, in Harrisburg, Illinois, the son of Almon and Ruby (Rhodes) Pelhank.John was married to Martha Wiser. She preceded him in death in 2009.John was the proprietor of a Mobil station on Brown Street in Alton and worked for Roberts Ford as a mechanic. He enjoyed wood working and stock car racing.Survivors include three sons, Kevin Pelhank of Foristell, MO, Roger and Janet Pelhank of Crafordville, GA, Keith and Sue Pelhank of Grass Lake, MI; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Monica Pelhank, and a daughter in law, Suzi Pelhank.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.An online condolence and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com .
