John A. Staszek, Jr., 61, passed away at 2:20pm on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at his residence. He was born on June 18, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late John A. and Anna C. (Frischman) Staszek, Sr. He married the former Sharon Gagnon on March 27, 1987, in St. Louis, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Nicole Staszek of Edwardsville, Heather and Kenny Ziegler of Bunker Hill, Illinois, two sons and a daughter in law: Pete Meschell and his fiance’: Michele Fisher of Huntington Beach, California, Carl and Kelli Richardson of Springfield, Illinois, nine grandchildren, three sisters and brothers in law: Julia and Ron Creighton of St. Louis, Sheila and Tim Skinner of St. Louis, Victoria and Scott Smith of O’Fallon, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
John was formerly employed at Dinges Drywall in St. Louis as a finisher. He loved to golf, watch the St. Louis Cardinals, and go to concerts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 10:30am until time of memorial services at 1:30pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Father Tom Liebler will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend and will be accepted at the funeral home.
