JoEllyn Losch

JoEllyn Losch, age 69 of Alton passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018,

3:55 p.m. at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

She was born November 24, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (nee: Donini) Richardson.

She married Joseph J. Losch, Jr. on February 20, 1971 in Springfield.

JoEllyn was employed many years as a school teacher at several area schools including St. Mary’s Catholic School in Alton for 20 dedicated years, and she later taught at the former St. Bernard’s Catholic School in Wood River and Sacred Heart Catholic School in Florissant, Missouri.

She was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, and will be remembered as a loving mom to her children. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, painting, and flower gardening.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by;

a son; Corey J. Losch of Hartford,

a daughter; Allyson A. Losch of Alton,

three grandchildren; Alec J. Losch, Toby M. Losch, and Anthony H. Losch,

several close cousins,

sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Susie and Dick Butler, Penny Bodine and

Michael Losch, other extended family members and many friends.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Joseph J. and Esther E. Losch, Sr., a sister-in-law; Mary Ann Ritchey and by a brother-in-law; Frank P. Losch.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 , 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4, 2018,

10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Father John Luong, O.M.V. as the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School or to

St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
