Joanne Robinson

Joanne Criteser Robinson, age 86, of Bethalto, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.

She was the loving wife of George William Robinson, who preceded her in death in 2014.Born August 20, 1931, in Wood River, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Irene Criteser.Joanne Criteser graduated from Roxana High School in 1949 and married George William Robinson on June 9, 1950. After raising their three children, Joanne and George visited all seven continents and experienced many of the wonders of the world, including a 50-year anniversary, 1 week Alaska cruise with their three children, their spouses, and seven grandchildren. Joanne was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandparent, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.Joanne is survived by a daughter, Cathy (David)  Zumbaum of Bethalto; a son, William L. (Susan)  Robinson of Scottsdale, AZ; a son-in-law, Pat Lyons; a sister, Rosalene Lamp; seven grandchildren, Susan (Jeff) Russell, Joe Benton, William Robinson, Mark (Chrissy) Robinson, Julie Robinson and her fiancée, Tanner Chitwood, Laura (Luke) McKenney, and Jill (Robert) Pampel; and three great-grandchildren, Jaren Benton, Sylvia Russell, and Evelyn Pampel.In addition to her husband, G.W.; she is preceded in death by parents; her brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Criteser; and her youngest daughter, Ellen Lyons.  Visitation will be 5 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. A committal service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 10:00 am at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
