JoAnn White

JoAnn White was born August 1, 1935 to the union of the late Edward Udell Robinson 
and Hilda (Smith) Robinson. 

JoAnn was united in holy matrimony to Leroy Hornberger in 1953 to that union 
was born Rip and Peaches. In 1956, she married to Morris White, Sr. to that union was born Rooney. 

She was a graduate from Edwardsville High School, worked at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as a secretary for 34 years, and was a volunteer at Anderson Hospital as a "Pink Lady" until her death. JoAnn was a honorary board member of the Lincoln School Alumni Association. She was also a faithful 

member and on the Mother's Board at New Horizon Community Church of East St. Louis, IL. 
She enjoyed lunches, movies, and Bible Study with her special friends. 

On Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 6:28 p.m., JoAnn transitioned from her Earthly Home to 
her Heavenly Home while at her residence. She was blessed with eighty-two years of life. 
JoAnn White was a SOLIDER not a VICTIM in the battle against ovarian cancer. She is preceded 
in death by her parents. 

She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Rip, Peaches (Johnny), and Rooney 
(Rosie). Seven grandchildren, Tammy (Julian) Smart, Aisha (Austin) Garrett, Physhawne 
(Michael) Donald, Jermaine Hornberger, Angie Fitts, Cedtric (Lakeshia) Morgan, and Tierra 
Boyd. Thirteen great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Cyrus, Isaiah, Mariah, Bionca, Armon, Aniyah, 

Michael, Khalil, Kaden, Kameron, Kali, and Bryson. Last but not least a host of nieces, nephews, sister-in-Iaws, brother-in-law, and a first cousin, Clarice A. Hayes-Foley. Visitation will convene Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m with service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at New Horizon Community Church 3315 Summit Avenue East Saint Louis, IL 62205.  Cremation rites accorded. Pastor Ranodore M. Foggs will officiate.  Services entrusted to Harrison Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center of Alton.
