Joann Rhein

Joann M. Rhein, nee Wolf, 78, of Belleville, IL, born April 16, 1947, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, December 26, 2025, in her home.

Mrs. Rhein was a devoted member of St. Matthew Church, Belleville, IL. She was unflinching in her faith and found strength there. In both the mundane moments and big gatherings alike, she treasured nothing more than spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Rhein; her parents, Herschel and Fern, nee Stamm, Wolf; and a brother-in-law, Albert Winter.

Surviving are three children, Cathryn (Daron) Gillmann, Jeremy (Heather Singh) Rhein, and Stephanie (James Meade) Rhein; five grandchildren, Austin (Lela) Gillmann, Brenden Gillmann, Hayley Rhein, Zachary Rhein, and Jackson Rhein; a great-grandson, Carson Gillmann; a brother, Bill (Karen) Wolf; two sisters, Donna Barr and Beth Winter; a sister-in-law, Kendra (Thomas) McNutt; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Rev. Bob Swickard officiating.

Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
