Joan Diane Jarman, 84, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 3:35 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born April 13, 1941, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Durrell and Pearl Louise (Gilleand) Justice. Joan married the love of her life, Robert B. Jarman, on August 14, 1957, in Granite City. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1996, after many years of shared love and devotion.
Joan attended Grace Baptist Church for many years and cherished the friendships and fellowship she shared with Senior Circle and The Priscilla’s. She enjoyed working word search puzzles, playing games on her phone, shopping, crocheting, and expressing her creativity through crafts made from plastic canvas. Family was always the heart of her life, and she took great pride in being a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A sassy ray of sunshine, Joan will always be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the special moments she shared with everyone she loved.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy R. Khammanivong of Mitchell; three sons, Robert K. (Diana) Jarman of Wood River, Bryan K. Jarman of Granite City, and Tracy L. “Chig” (Rachael) Jarman of Glen Carbon; five grandchildren, Chelsea Benz, Danielle (Jake) Peterson, Heather (Joey) Ozanich, Tiffany Khammanivong, and Brandon Khammanivong; six great-grandchildren, Landen Taylor, Kaysen Taylor, Austin Khammanivong, Bailey Peterson, Griffin Peterson, and Maverick Peterson; six siblings, Richard Justice, Jackie Schofield, Margie Margrabe, Duane Justice, Von Justice, and Gary Justice; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Khamphanh Khammanivong; and eight siblings, Marilyn Justice, Kevin Justice, Joyce Justice, David Justice, Judy Crider, Anita Lewis, Mary Lindsay, and Alfred Justice.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held there at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, with Pastor Chris Sedabres officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Carbon City Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
