Joan Linder-Price

Joan Irene Linder-Price, 55, passed away 12:55 pm, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Kindred Hospital Sycamore.

Born in Alton on April 19, 1963, she was the oldest of six children born to Jerry Wayne and Pamela (Wildt) Linder of East Alton.

She had battled cancer (Hodgkin's Disease) four times in her early twenties. Joan was one of the first recipients of bone marrow transplant at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  Although it took a toll on her body, she remained in remission for over 30 years, returning in her lungs.

She was an amazingly strong and beautiful woman.  She loved her son Tyler very much.

Joan was a huge animal lover, especially her cat, "Kitty" and dog, "Gunther".

In addition to her parents, surviving are a son, Tyler Price of East Alton; brothers, Daniel (Barb) Linder and David (Patty) Linder all of East Alton; sisters, Karen (Bobby) Johnson and Julie (Mike) Carlisle all of Wood River, Sharon (Jay) Hesse of Edwardsville; 11 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews, all of which she was very close to and loved very much.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, November 13 at the 1st United Methodist Church in East Alton, where services will be conducted at 10 am, Wednesday.

She will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey next to her beloved grandparents and aunt.

Memorials may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church in East Alton or Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
