Jim Anthony Cummings Jr., 60, of Brighton, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at home.
He was born on April 21, 1963, in Springfield, IL, the son of Jim Anthony Sr. and Beverly Ann (Ryner) Cummings.
Jim worked at and managed Cummings Food Center in Brighton from 1979 to 2000. He finished his career as a Laborer for Local 218 retiring in 2023. He was always kindhearted, giving, and never met a stranger. Jim always loved a good party. He was a past member of Brighton Rod and Gun Club and Alton Wood River Sportsman Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his parents; son Jim Anthony III (Nicole) Cummings of Brighton; grandchildren Chase and Caden Cummings; sisters Cindy (Joe) Besjak and Elaine (Pat) Bryan; his beloved dogs Walter and Linda.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton,
Services will be private.
