Jerry A. Prusa, age 83 of Alhambra, IL, died Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.
He was born on Sunday, December 1, 1940, in Alton, IL, the son of Frank and Bessie (nee Martini) Prusa.
On Saturday, October 3, 1964, he married Carol J. Prusa nee Linenfelser at Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, Illinois, who passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015.
He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church; Carpenter's Local #664 (formerly Local #1535), Highland, IL; Knights of Columbus, Highland, IL; he and his wife were participants in the Adoration Prayer Group at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland, IL..
Jerry was born in Alton, IL. He grew up in Edwardsville and Glen Carbon, IL area; attended Acme Grade School; and graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1958. He worked briefly at A.O. Smith and then joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Ft. Greely, Alaska for over a year. He labored on I-70/I-270 and in 1964 joined the Carpenter's Union. He retired at age 60. Jerry moved to Highland, IL in 1964 and Alhambra, IL in 2020. He and his wife enjoyed travelling, had visited most of the west coast (always starting with Wyoming), the northeast coast of the US and antiquing. Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, tying his own fishing flies and collecting antique fishing lures.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Rev. Fr. Pat G. Jakel, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
