Jerry Kueker

Jerry Kueker, 74, passed away at 3:15 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis, MO. 

He was born on June 30, 1941 in Highland, IL, the son of Harold F. and Geraldine W. (Barbee) Kueker.

He married his wife, Bobbie on November 3, 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto.  She survives. 

As a youth, Jerry was a professional roller skater and won the Arizona State Championship. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Air Force, from 1960-1964.  He retired from maintenance at Olin Corporation. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Alton VFW Post 1308 and the Olin Gun Club.  He and his wife were members of the Bethalto Senior Citizens.  He enjoyed playing cards with his wife and friends, building model airplanes, reading, duck hunting and he loved nature, science and history.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Vicky K. (Susie Boerckel) Kueker of Wood River and Patricia (Edmund) Giertz of Champain, Illinois; a sister-in-law Frances (Gary) Tite of Holiday Shores; a nephew, Jeffrey; three nieces, Traci, Kim and Shannon; close cousins, Ed Yurock of Holiday Shores and Betty Ohl of Peoria and very special friends, Gus Eschbach and Randy Eaton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Ronald Kueker.

A memorial visitation will be from 9:30 until services at 11:00 am Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Hofferber, Pastor Kale Hanson and Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.  Alton VFW Post 1308 will perform military rites.

 

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or The Wounded Warrior Fund.
