Jerry G. Rogers, 72, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at The Geitner Home in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on April 30, 1937, in Alton, the son of the late Pete and Lydia Ester (Spangenberg) Rogers. He is survived by one sister: Joyce Orban of Alton, one niece: Debbie Kelly and her family of Brighton, Illinois, and one nephew: Bruce Orban and his family.
He graduated from Alton High School. He was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for the Wood River Auto Salvage, Kram Fish Company, and he retired from A.G. Edwards in St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law: Walter L. Orban.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
