Jerome J. “Jerry” Reinhold, age 85, of Glen Carbon, Illinois died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015, at Eden Village Care Center. Jerry retired as a salesman for Richards Brick in Edwardsville. He was born September 9, 1929, in Waterloo, Illinois the son of the late Leo & Margaret (Fogelpole) Reinhold. He married Shirley “Jean” DeMonbrun on November 29, 1952, at Waterloo. Besides his wife he is survived by 2 daughters, Suzanne Gallatin & husband James of Highland, Illinois and Linda Reimers & husband Peter of Cary, Illinois; 6 grandchildren; Jeremy Gallatin & wife Christina of St. Peters, MO, Emily Geerts & husband Adam of Morton, Illinois, Ben Gallatin of St. Charles, MO., Amanda Gallatin & special friend, Aaron Hughes of Medford, OR, Marie Houghton & husband Adam of Bloomington, IL, Molly Latza & husband Matthew of Grayslake, IL; and 9 great grandchildren; Abigail & Matthew Gallatin, Ava & Griffin Geerts, Claire and Lydia Houghton, Taylor, Ava, and Ashley Latza. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Glen Reinhold and 1 sister, Dorothy Reinhold. Jerry was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon, a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1143 in Edwardsville. He was an active member of St. Boniface and St. Cecilia’s Catholic Churches. He was a former member of the Edwardsville Optimist Club. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who supported many of his grandchildren’s activities. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Rams, pitching horseshoes, playing golf, and bowling. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 205, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or St. Vincent DePaul Society. Condolences may be expressed online at
