Jenny Lou Kershner, 79, of Roxana, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home on July 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 30, 1946, to Orville and Virginia Mize, who preceded her in death.
Jenny was the beloved wife of Larry Kershner, with whom she shared a life filled with love, faith, and family. Jenny’s pride and joy came out of being a stay-at-home wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Nothing brought her greater joy than caring for her family and friends, and creating lasting memories with the people she loved most.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Kershner; her daughter, Michelle Pritchard of Lebanon, Missouri; and her cherished stepchildren, whom Jenny cherished as her own: Rose (Kenny) Cox of Plymouth, Illinois; Debra (Robert) Pullinger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Paula (Scott) Steiner of Bethalto, Illinois; and Larry J. Kershner of Wood River, Illinois.
Jenny and Larry also lovingly adopted and raised two of their grandchildren, Samantha (Michael) Cole of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, and Lindsey Hoehn of Roxana, Illinois, who were a tremendous source of pride and joy throughout her life.
She was also blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the neighborhood grandkids, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Virginia Mize; her daughter, Ellen Northcutt; her son, Edward Northcutt; her brothers, Steve Mize and James “Bud” Mize; her sisters, Wilma Mize and Donna Summers; her niece, Tammy Maxon and granddaughter, Brandy Pritchard.
Jenny’s life was rooted in faith, family, and love. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed the fellowship of her church family, and found happiness in the simple moments surrounded by those she loved. Her unwavering strength, positive attitude, and remarkable perseverance inspired everyone who knew her. Through life’s challenges, she remained resilient, compassionate, and devoted to her family, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love and kindness.
Her family will forever remember her warm heart, gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the countless sacrifices she made for those she loved. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
