Jennifer "Jen" E. Scholbe, 42, of Bethalto, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026.
She was born on December 29, 1983, in Landsthul, Germany, the daughter of Jack R. and Linda F. (Martin) Scholbe, and they survive.
After graduating from Civic Memorial High School in 2002, she earned an associates degree from Lewis and Clark Community College. Jen had worked for Bella Milano Catering Company as a server. She was of the Baptist Faith. You would often find Jen volunteering her time at 5A's. She loved animals, especially her special dogs, Lucy, Gabi, and Bowie, and her cats. She enjoyed making crafts, listening to music, singing, writing poetry, collecting rocks, and camping. Most of all, she cherished her time spent with friends and family.
Along with her parents, Jack and Linda, she is survived by a brother, Matthew (Gina) Scholbe; aunts and uncles, Arthur Scholbe, Christopher (Mary) Scholbe, Diann Payne, Tammy Hendricks, Eugene (Susan) Martin, and Jimmy Martin; and her nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Evan, and Kara.
She was preceded in death by her special friends/cats, Daphne Lue, Mister, and Timmy Cotton Pants; uncles, Michael Scholbe, and Calvin Martin; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Betty (Wallace) Scholbe; and maternal grandparents, Gene and Dette (Wood) Martin.
Her family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final wishes.
